| PlayBWF now is BounceUsII Lite
BounceUsII Lite allows users to preview and edit the BWF audio meta data. The OS X application supports mono BWF and stereo BWF-P files.
BounceUsII Lite extracts the meta data of the BWF file header and displays data like starting timecode of the file, scene, take, notes etc. The timecode is calculated based on the user-defined framerate.
BWF-P files with more than 2 channels can be opened to view the meta data, but can't be played.
The meta data of the files can be edited and saved back to all files which belong to the individual recording.
Additionally the tracks can be bounced either to a Final Cut Pro compatible Quicktime movie with timecode and and all metadata in a XML or to an Avid compatible stereo BWF.
PlayBWF is a split part of the companies BounceUsII, an audio bounce/mix down application for BWF and SD2 files.

The application will open like above. You can select the output framerate, the format and the sampling rate for the output. You can click the '+' on the upper right to expand the window to full size. (Click here to view)

If drag a BWF or SD2 file onto the application's icon, you will get a window that looks like above. If you bounce/export to BWF you you will be warned that only timecode will be saved to the exported file.

Since BounceUs searches the whole directory (the files resides in) for other tracks of the recording, it knows, if there are any files missing within the 123456_1.ext ... 123456_x.ext. You will be notified in case that happens. However - BounceUs cannot find out whether tracks at the end of the sequence are missing.
To change metadata move the mouse over the value you want to change, click and edit - hit return to save the entry or move away the mouse to revert.

Clicking the dark grey triangle on the left will hide the info. Using the channel popup you can listen to the individual channels of this recording.
With the use of the free Satimage OSAX (part of the installation), also SD 2 timecodes can be read. So the full timecode information can be brought into FCP. For more information about Satimage visit their homepage.
